The Government of Ghana has finally received the 245 Ghanaians who were illegally staying in the Government of Kuwait.
In a video sighted by GH loudspeaker, the deportees were seen in a single file moving with little or no luggage.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all of them were spotted with nose masks on as they moved.
The atmosphere in the video rather looks calm and probably could be a happy moment for the deportees as they are finally back in their homeland.
The Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah in his address yesterday [Friday, 22nd May 2020] said the Government of Kuwait will bear the cost for the returnees on a Chartered flight.
Due to Ghana’s safety protocols, the 245 persons will be mandatorily quarantined and tested for COVID-19.
The Government of Ghana would however, bear the cost of quarantine of the deportees and also the treatment of those who may test positive for COVID-19.
